Clatskanie Blues Festival, River Run Set for Aug. 25
The first annual Clatskanie Blues Festival "Rhythm on the River" will be held on Aug. 25, from 1-10 p.m., in the Clatskanie City Park.
Well-known blues artist Ellen Whyte will be performing in a concert along with Kristi Nicholson, Big Fish Blue, Terri Rob and the Jumpers, and Dangerous Dan and the Disasters. This concert is free to the public.
The event will start off with a 5k "Rhythm Run" beginning at 11 a.m., or a 8k run for serious runners. Participants will receive a t-shirt and a pair of "blues" sunglasses. Entry for the run is a $10 fee which will benefit local youth art and music scholarships.

A barbecue dinner will be available for purchase. In addition, art booths and other vendors will be staged in a Saturday market-type setting throughout the park.
This is a non-for-profit event sponsored by the Clatskanie City Park and Recreation District and established through the Clatskanie Foundation to provide scholarships for the promising local youth.
